Find Your Voice 2026
Young people from the Greater Fredericton Area are invited to discover their authentic voice at Find Your Voice, a free one-day musical workshop taking place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Cuffman Street Elementary School.
Now in its third year, the workshop welcomes youth aged 10 and up (grades 4-12), with or without prior musical experience. Participants will explore ensemble singing through a creative blend of movement, theatre, storytelling, rhythm, and traditional choral training. Find Your Voice is led by some of the province's most experienced—and most fun!—music educators.
FYV will include streams for younger participants, middle-school participants and older participants
Students will build foundational skills in healthy vocal technique, posture and alignment, breathing, and tone production. The workshop combines traditional choral training with creative exercises in movement, gesture, and theatrical expression. Participants will develop strong vocal technique, confidence, and musicianship, discovering how to use their voice to share beauty, meaning, and experience, and making new friends.
The day concludes with a group performance for parents, followed by cake and lemonade.
A partnership between the New Brunswick Choral Federation, the Fredericton Kiwanis Youth Choir, and Solo Chicken Productions, Find Your Voice is about helping young singers build confidence in their own authentic voice. We want every participant to leave energized, excited to grow as a musician, and ready to take part more fully in the musical life of their school and community.
The program is designed to supplement existing school and community music programs, reinforcing the foundational tools and knowledge that students carry back to their own choirs and ensembles.

Thanks to the generous support of the Fredericton Community Foundation and the City of Fredericton, there is no participation fee, and lunch is provided. Registration is required.
