ENTANDEM administers licenses for music performed at live concerts, shows and festivals on behalf of SOCAN.
If recorded music is also used as ambiance, in the background or to complement the live show, then a RE:SOUND music license is also required.
For choirs, this means that the concert programs and associated license fees that are submitted to SOCAN are used to distribute the royalties to the applicable composers/rights holders of music performed (national and international).
Choirs should ensure each season that they:
a) pay their performance license fees through Entadem
b) submit their rep list/concert programs for your performances by email to concertsetlist@entandemlicensing.com to ensure royalties reach the composers. Concert programs or set lists should include the title of the work, the composer, arranger and/or lyricist as applicable, and the approximate duration of the work.
